Cruise From Southampton - Guide to Tourists in Llandudno


Every year Llandudno hosts the Victorian Extravaganza which helps to ensure the heritage of the town and is a must for any visitor to attend. It was built in the Victorian era and this is still evident to any visitor as it still retains that Victorian feel due to numerous Victorian buildings and structures. Llandudno is one of Wales's most popular tourist destinations. Llandudno 'Queen of the Welsh Resorts' a title name which dates back to the 1800's.

Many tour operators also organise trips to Llandudno. Chester and Warrington and the National Express Coach also routes to Llandudno, direct train links include Manchester, llandudno is within easy reach via the A55 which links to the north of England.

Opposite the Promenade is the main road known as the Parade where the majority of Llandudno's wonderful Victorian hotels are built. And there is also a playground for the children, take a tour on the tractor, visitors to the farm can feed and stroke the animals. This is a working farm open to the public. Opposite the paddling pool is Bodafon Hall Farm. And to the south of the Promenade is a large outdoor paddling pool and a children's play area which is very popular during the summer months. A marvellous grade II listed building. At the Northern end of the promenade lies the award winning Victorian Pier. The North Shore is a wide curving Victorian promenade. It has two beautiful beaches which comprise of the North Shore and the West Shore. Llandudno has a wide range of attractions to suit the whole family.

Picnic areas and a beach front caf�, there is also a children's play area. It offers a sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes with astounding views of Puffin Island and the Isle of Anglesey. And is very popular with windsurfers and kite surfers; the West Shore is a lot quieter than the North Shore.

Marine drive is a stunning four mile drive around the Orme which starts at the North Shore and finishes at the West Shore and offers stunning views. And surrounding areas; isle of Anglesey, take a trip on the Victorian Tram or the cable car which offers spectacular views over the Irish Sea, tourists can visit the Great Orme Copper mines. The Great Orme is located at the Northern area of Llandudno and is another popular attraction.

Hotels and even Boutique Hotels, bed and Breakfasts, which ranges from camping/caravanning, there is a wide variety of accommodation in Llandudno to suit all needs.
